Win the Holidays

This week, we have all kinds of fun stuff to get you prepped to win this holiday season, whether it’s taking a cooking class to blow away your family this Thanksgiving, taking your sweetie to a fabulous rendition of Promises, Promises at SF Playhouse or getting style tips from the fashionistas at Trendy Mondays. Read on for all the details.

Of course, in order to win the holidays, you have to hit up the Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square! We have all the info on this wonderful holiday tradition and the festive events they throw every year in this week’s blog post. Read on here.

Holiday Hits

SF Playhouse, known for their non-traditional yet oh so apropos holiday shows, is doing it again with Promises, Promises, a raucous musical romp set in 1968 Manhattan about a young executive and a troubled waitress as their affair intertwines with corporate shenanigans. Open Nov. 18 to Jan. 10, get tickets here.

Want to impress all of your friends with an amazing holiday meal? The experts at Williams-Sonoma can get you half way to Martha Stewart in no time with classes like Fall Baking, Holiday Appetizers, Thanksgiving Pies, Thanksgiving Dishes, Holiday Brunch and Holiday Cookies! Check out the full schedule and sign up here.

Tout Sweet’s innovative pastry chef Yigit Pura will be at Macy’s basement this Saturday Nov. 15. Catch a demo, get a copy of his new book Sweet Alchemy and get 10% off your entire purchase. RSVP here.

On the Town

Inject some style in your holiday season. Join Trendy Mondays for a special trunk show and mixer Thurs. Nov. 20, 5-8:30 pm. Enjoy a glass of wine while you peruse the beautiful baubles from Sasha Maks Vintage Jewelry, amazing designs from Saako scarves and stylish footwear from SF’s Blu Kicks. Plus enjoy a 10% discount and a Ziesche Modern Apothecary goody bag! RSVP on Eventbrite.

You may remember the talented mustachioed whiskey-makers of Sonoma Distilling Co. from our Food + Art event earlier this year. Nov. 18, they’ll be at Burritt Room + Tavern for a special collaborative tasting with Chef Luke Knox and barman Josh Trabulsi. Dishes like salt roasted beets with carrot yogurt and other tasty treats will be served with well-balanced cocktails by the team. Tickets are $15 and available here.

Gallery Paule Anglim is commemorating the colorful life of the SF artist and drag queen legend Jerome Caja (1960-1995) with an exhibition of Caja’s mixed media paintings, assembled from thrift store artifacts, nail polish, makeup and other unusual items. A special launch event will take place Nov. 19, 5:30-7:30 pm. The exhibit is up through Dec. 20. More info is here.

Biz BuzzWinter Walk is coming your way!
